Consulting allows us to work hand in hand with our clients.  We view our relationship as a partnership and it allows us to experience the highs and the challenges that are part of every campaign.

On May 1st, I was able to be a guest at an extremely exciting and powerful event.  The Lindner Center of HOPE – located in Mason, Ohio – celebrated the announcement of the $15 million dollar Advancing HOPE Campaign and the grand opening of a new therapeutic environment for their Sibcy House program.

The new facility is remarkable and will provide an ideal environment for the wonderful work that the staff at the Lindner Center of HOPE does.  They also announced the impending launch of the new Adolescent Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment and Intensive Treatment Program.

For an organization that is only 5 ½ years old, the Lindner Center has accomplished many amazing things and has had a tremendous impact on the region.  The current campaign will allow them to expand their reach.

The Lindner Center staff and volunteer leadership announced that they have raised over $9 million towards the $15m goal.  This accomplishment did not happen overnight and has taken a great deal of hard work and a strategic focus.  From the beginning of the process, the staff and volunteers have stayed focused on their goals and have moved through each step of the process.

Every campaign is different and every organization is unique, but the Advancing HOPE Campaign has some key characteristics that all organizations should strive to achieve when entering a campaign.

  1. Compelling and Clear Vision:  The Lindner Center knew what they wanted to accomplish and were able to articulate it for their prospective donors.
  2. Strong and Stable Leadership: Staff and Board leadership was in place and well regarded by prospective donors.
  3. Committed Campaign Leadership: the volunteer leadership has been exceptional and have been active in leading the campaign.

The event on May 1st is not the end of the process but it was a critical step. It was wonderful to see so many donors and prospective donors join together to celebrate what has been accomplished and look ahead at what still needs to be done.
